Bar Code 128 – Software to Print Your Own Barcodes
Review by on
From downloading, to installing, and then getting to use Bar Code 128, there is much to like about this Elfring Fonts-developed application. What will you like about downloading Bar Code 128? You will like that the download takes very little time to complete. Since the download weighs in at about 2.2MB, it can’t take long for it to complete – not even if you are on a less than spectacular internet connection.

What’s to like about installing Bar Code 128? You will like that the installation process is fairly straightforward and that it completes rapidly and without a hitch. You will also like that Bar Code 128 provides support for several versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Bar Code 128 can be installed without a problem on the old but popular Windows XO, on the much avoided Windows Vista, and on the latest and greatest (at the time of writing this) Windows 7. This includes the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version of the operating system.

What’s to like about using Bar Code 128? Why the application’s functionality, what else. Here is what you can expect to get from Bar Code 128, from a functionality point of view:
- Print your own EAN 128, SCC-14, or SSCC-18 barcodes from Windows
- Print barcode 128 in Subsets A, B, C, or any other specification based on Code128 in virtually any Windows program
- Encode the entire ASCII character set, including control codes
- Export barcodes as GIF, JPG, BMP, or PNG.
- Works with MS Word, MS Excel, WordPerfect, MS Access, MS FoxPro, PageMaker, Illustrator, Freehand, Quark Express, Corel Draw, and many others.

Should you decide to get Bar Code 128, there is one last thing you need to know – it is not freeware. The application is free to try, but the trial comes with a few limitations – like nag screens, and the fact that the 1, 7, S, l and Y characters are replaced by the word “demo”. On the upside, the barcode is scannable.

Pros
  • Easy to use
  • Lightweight download size
  • Generate, export barcodes
  • Print labels

Cons
  • Free to try
